Mentoring & coaching
Badgeable are proud to launch an on-demand mentoring program for teachers and trainee teachers of Design & Technology.
We recognise the systemic challenges facing schools working to deliver curriculum breadth.
We have developed a dynamic and responsive program that can be accessed at any time.
Our support program responds to the chronic shortage of subject expertise and mentoring for D&T teachers working in UK schools.
A lack of subject specialists... short or long term staff absence.... small or one person departments.... workload of existing staff...
Our support program was conceived to provide support for trainee and ECT teachers - who through accelerated and remote training, will have very little post-QTS support and guidance.
However, ongoing shortage in professional and subject specific CPD remains at the heart of issues surrounding both the D&T curriculum and poor examination / NEA performance in GCSE and A level D&T.
Our program is, accessible any time during the academic year, designed to provide time slots outside of the school timetable, bookable in one hour slots.
It administered by subject expert teachers with senior leadership experience who have successfully delivered the subject in both state and private sector.
It is applicable to all material area requests (Food, Design and Technology, Textiles, Electronics, Engineering), available to all qualification teachers irrespective of awarding body and designed to respond to needs of staff delivering GCSE, A Level, vocational and T-Level qualifications.
We can support almost all schools needs:
- Subject specific teacher training
- Developing D&T pedagogy
- Curriculum planning and development
- Qualification delivery and assessment
- Improving teaching spaces & resources
- Developing teacher confidence managing behaviour in D&T
- Advice on conflict resolution
Whilst we can provide expert advice, we cannot guarantee exam board marking or moderation outcomes. Whilst our team has experience of being examiners, moderators, principle examiners / moderators and external consultants / Trust subject leads, we cannot certify assessment decisions on behalf of any awarding organisation.
We can however provide professional experience and advice.
